Germinate explores germination and hybridisation as acts of coming into existence - what unfolds within the seed, life held inside a protective layer, the conditions required for growth, and the moment of emergence through sprouting. Hybridisation extends this inquiry into transformation, where new forms arise through cross-pollination.

These biological processes mirror cultural hybridisation: adaptation and evolution in new environments. They form the foundation of our shared and individual practices. Working side by side, we continue our dialogue through material exploration and process-led experimentation.

Germinate reflects our time at the Bundanon Artist Residency and the ongoing development of our practices in South Australia and Tasmania. This exchange results in experimental objects shaped by collaboration, intervention, and transformation.
